The mission:
At Metrowax, we strive
to become much more than just another online record store. We want to become an online resource where anyone interested in a record can check our website for reviews, track ratings, and personal commentary from DJs and collectors who already own the record. To become this resource, we will need to create a community of people who are passionate about their music and who will willingly and regularly contribute their nuggets of wisdom and comments for all to read and learn from.
In a perfect world, we would hope to get thousands of well written and informative reviews for free. But we are smart enough to know that a reward will help. We feel that there's no better reward to offer than free records; the vinyl that you love so much already!
And we hope that in time, our loyal customers will contribute meaningful reviews spontaneously and liberally.
How To Write Reviews:
To start reviewing, click on 'Be the first to write a review' or 'Write a Review' which is located on the product page below the product details. Then just start writing... Be Creative, and have fun!
The Dirt:
All reviews are subject to approval. Your reviews will not be posted instantly. Each submission is read by a member of our staff prior to posting online. Keep it clean - no offensive language is allowed!
Bring some good information and views to the table. Please do not review any record you don't know from first-hand experience. You should either own it, have owned it, or at the very least heard it
somewhere numerous times. Reviewing songs you have played out several times will help. If you are a former or working DJ that has a recommendation based on your experience, we would love to hear it. Other accepted reviews could be an interesting experience or memory from a track, or if you know what other tracks it mixes well with. Any information that is relevant, interesting, and useful to record collectors and DJ's would be acceptable to us.

"I own 2 or 3 copies of this record. This is just a classic '86 old
school joint. And this is probably the best hip hop record released on
Arthur Baker's label. It is up there with Harmony & LG. It is often
an overlooked 12'' and I have no idea why! Perhaps the name throws
people off. But if you are looking for heavy 808/909 beats, live human
beat boxing and some nice edits thrown in, then this should be right up

We accept positive or negative reviews. If you think a song sucks and you have a legitimate beef about it, then we appreciate the information and welcome these reviews. However, if everything you have to write is negative, it really doesn't help us too much. Try to review primarily records you like and have listened to many times. It will lead to reviews that are more interesting and useful. After all, how many of us really spend time focusing on music that sucks? If we did that, we would have no time to listen to the good stuff!
Don't forget to rate the track! As part of the reviewing process, you are required to rate the track from one to five stars. It is purely your opinion, so have fun with it!
No fighting! If you disagree with a review, then write your own review that presents another viewpoint, but please keep your opinion of the reviewer to yourself.
For
some titles, we have several copies, and we encourage you to review the
highest grade copy available.
The Deal:
1 accepted review = 75 cents store credit.
Accepted reviews are tabulated at the end of each month, and the credits are sent via email.
The Terms:
In order to write a review, all users must create a user account at metrowax.com. A purchase is not required, but we need the account created to enable you to write the review and receive the emailed stored credit.
